In this role, you will join a world-class team of engineers and researchers and contribute to the development of microarchitectures and the related back-end compiler software for advanced versions of IBM’s AI accelerators. This work will be carried out in a multi-disciplinary environment where hardware-software co-optimization is key. The microarchitecture innovations and software-stack components will target complete AI solutions for both established and next-generation AI applications. Specific examples of job responsibilities include Explore compute-in-memory extensions to dataflow microarchitecture accelerators, Investigate microarchitecture extensions to enhance on-chip memory expansion and efficiency, Develop software kernels to demonstrate and leverage the microarchitecture innovations, Prototyping on FPGA emulation platforms, Contribute to the development of cutting-edge demonstrations with emerging AI accelerators. Have strong background on AI accelerators and/or AI accelerator-associated software Possess a track record of research in hardware-software co-design Effective communication of technical ideas Familiarity with tools and languages for microarchitecture studies Strong programming skills Research experience on compilers for AI accelerators Experience with hardware/software co-optimization for AI applications Familiarity with a diverse set of AI applications Hands-on experience in prototyping AI-based solutions United States Research Internship Yorktown Heights, US (0147) International Business Machines Corporation
