About this role
This is a business-critical manager role for the injection molding plant, responsible for leading the ME team of 5 engineers and 6 technicians to ensure equipment reliability, infrastructure stability, and manufacturing engineering capability. The role directly supports production continuity and key GSC targets through equipment lifecycle management, process improvement, automation, and utility system reliability across power, fire protection, water, compressed air, and solar systems.
1. Equipment Management
Oversee the full lifecycle (selection, installation, maintenance, and overhaul) of plant equipment, with a primary focus on injection molding machines and facility infrastructure
Implement and optimize Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) systems to improve MTBF/MTTR and ensure production safety and continuity.
Lead root-cause analysis (8D, 5-Why) for major equipment failures and establish robust preventive measures.
2. Process Optimization & Troubleshooting
Drive process engineering optimizations for injection molding and assembly operations to enhance capability, and optimize cycle times.
Standardize operating procedures (SOP, PFMEA, Control Plans) and maintain standard process parameter databases.
3. Industrial Engineering (IE)
Establish the plant IE strategy: perform time studies, line balancing, and motion analyses to optimize shop-floor layouts and human-machine efficiency.
Own and maintain New Product Routings (standard time, BOM routings, process paths) in the SAP to ensure accurate costing and scheduling.
4. Automation Evaluation & Efficiency Improvement
Identify and evaluate automation opportunities (e.g., robotic pick-and-place, vision inspection/AOI, automated assembly lines) to boost OEE and labor efficiency.
Conduct ROI calculations, evaluate automation vendors, draft technical agreements, and oversee project execution and ramp-up.
5. Digital Manufacturing Leadership
Lead and drive digitalization and Smart Factory initiatives. Connect operational technology (OT) with information technology (IT) to transition manufacturing engineering from experience-driven to data-driven decision-making.
6. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of ME, IE, and equipment engineers.
Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Quality, ENG, and Supply Chain to ensure rapid issue resolution
