What You’ll Do
- Support concept development through research, mood boards, sketches, and design exploration.
- Create and refine 3D CAD models for merchandise, packaging, and product components in software such as SolidWorks or Fusion 360.
- Prepare print-ready files, operate 3D printers, and troubleshoot common printing issues.
- Build, finish, and evaluate prototypes to assess scale, fit, function, and appearance.
- Collaborate with design and production teams to explore materials, manufacturing methods, and practical solutions.
- Incorporate feedback quickly and keep project files, prototypes, and materials organized.
What You’ll Bring
- Current enrollment in, or recent graduation from, an Industrial Design, Product Design, or related program.
- Required: hands-on 3D modeling experience in software such as SolidWorks or Fusion 360.
- Required: hands-on 3D printing experience , including file preparation, slicing, printer setup, and basic troubleshooting.
- A portfolio showing your design process, 3D modeling, and physical prototypes. Academic and personal projects are welcome.
- Strong attention to detail and curiosity about materials, construction, and how products are made.
- A proactive approach: you ask thoughtful questions, take ownership of tasks, and bring solutions when challenges arise.
- The ability to manage deadlines and respond to feedback in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Rendering, Adobe Creative Suite, model-making, and familiarity with manufacturing processes are a plus.
- Availability to work in our Brooklyn office three days per week.
