About this role
Project Overview:
This internship focuses on the development and testing of machine learning (ML) as well as other data analysis and processing algorithms used to analyze spectroscopic data from geological samples. As part of this effort, our team is actively collecting reference spectroscopic data of geological materials under varied experimental conditions. This work directly supports an ongoing project to build a flight-ready spectroscopy instrument designed to operate in the lunar environment.
Key Responsibilities: (Note: Duties can be adjusted based on your background)
--> Develop, test, and refine machine learning and data analysis algorithms for spectroscopic data.
--> Conduct hands-on spectroscopic measurements on geological materials under varied experimental conditions.
--> Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to validate algorithms using experimental data.
Who Should Apply:
We are looking for an adaptable and motivated candidate who is interested in contributing to this project. You will need some basic programming experience (such as MATLAB or Python) to help with data analysis, and potentially algorithm development and/or hands-on laboratory experiments. A background in geology, chemistry, machine learning, or spectroscopy would be helpful, but is not required.
